Small enough to handle a busy toddler. We attended a birthday party in the party room which was wonderful without being over the top pretentious as some other Washington kids party settings are.

This made a great preschool fieldtrip/outing. It is small but that makes it very accessible for little ones.

Basically it is a fish store. It is actually embarassing as far as aquariums go

Very cramped downstairs. Hardly would qualify as a national aquarium.

The National Aquarium is often overlooked making it a fun place to go with kids. Its a nothing like the aquarium in Baltimore, nothing on that scale, but I think in some ways that's good for little kids.

it was nice and a must to see the shows, but it is limited on what you see. I felt like it was a herd of cattle walking through being directed

It wasn't much fun for my 2 year old son, probably because it was flooded with older school children.

Not many exhibits...aqaauariums are situated too hign for the little ones to see. I'd pass on this and make the trip to the Baltimore Aquarium instead.

Please. It is so worth the hour's drive to Baltimore to see a real aquarium. It's in a basement of an old building, tiny, horrible layout, and nearly nothing to see. Do yourself and your kids a favor. Go to...

I give it one star for having fish. When I heard there was a NATIONAL AQUARIUM downtown, I decided to take my wife and go to IT in lieu of the DC zoo, so we'd already be near other sights.
